Cadet Class
The Cadet Dinghy has been sailing on the River Deben for many years and with the class celebrating its 60th year this year it is still a very popular choice for children at WSC today. The Cadet is also a very competitive class on a national scale with the a good history of
champions from the UK and WSC.
Please take a look at the following to introduce you to the Cadet Class at :

OPEN News
One very important point that has been raised
is that the Wednesday & Thursday of the Open Training is also the
Suffolk Show so especially if you have to cross the Orwell Bridge you
may have to get up a little earlier!!!
Congratulations to James Hayward & Alex
Warrington on winning the Cadet Inland Championships 2008
Firstly thank you to the Dearloves & Cooneys for making sure Cadets were
on the WSC race course last weekend while 13 boats made the journey to
Datchet Water for the Inland Championships / 2nd indicator. 4 good races
were sailed on Saturday in a relatively constant light but shifty breeze
exacerbated by one aeroplane a minute crossing the winds path. No races
were run on Sunday as the wind was too fickle & eventually turned off
altogether.
Waldringfield produced some superb results in the fleet of 98 boats–
James Hayward & Alex Warrington won the event with a 5th, 2nd, 3rd, & a
brilliant 1st all the way round the course in the last race. Tim Carter
& Henry Stone finished 10th with a 5th among his results,
Congratulations also to John & Alex Page who did extremely well with 15,
19, 26, 27 to finish 11th & scooping up 2nd Silver Fleet, 1st U15 and
youngest crew. More Congratulations this time to James Joplin & Sam Yale
who are really showing form this year finished 23rd overall and 3rd
Silver Fleet with 3 races in the mid to late teens but were let down by
one bad result. In race one James & Sam held a top ten position for some
considerable time. Tim & Charlie Linsell finished 32nd, Emma Knott & Eve
Botallico 40th again they had a superb first race finishing 17th. Henry
Mills & Oliver Jones finished 54th but would have been much further up
the leader board were it not for having to carry a DSQ, they also had an
superb 1st race in which they came 10th but were right up the front at
the first windward. Maddie Harris & Annie Knott finished the event in
63rd again they did very well in race 1 (28th) & certainly would have
been in the top 10 around the windward in the afternoon race were it not
for a massive header tipping them in. Mark Yale & Theo Passmore, Emma
White & Suzie Gosling 82 & 83 respectively and at their first outing in
the main fleet well done Charlotte Hayward / Willow Bland & Emliy Bland
/ Minna Bland 95th & 96th who had a wonderful time & discovered that it
is really not that scary!!. In Regatta Fleet George Warrington & Angus
Stone finished 6th, also their first time at a major event.
