Restoration Project on Dragonfly No10
No 10 has been brought by the
Dragonfly class from funds raised over a number of years. From the pictures
above she does not look in bad condition, however by the time she has been
rebuilt only 20 planks will be original every other part of the boat will
have been replaced.
At present the boat is housed and
being worked on by Phil Hawley and Richard Smithson.
The current situation is No10 has
been completely stripped down, she is without ribs or any form of support
structure and has been bolted to a jig (designed and built by John Fish when
working on No45).
At present a new stem and garboard
planks are being shaped in preparation for steaming and fitting, once this phase
is complete the boat will be entirely re-ribbed.
